Amor Fati Meaning: Loving What Life Brings

At times we (especially moi!) crave certainty. Life is not like that.

There is a stoic philosophy called Amor Fati, which means accepting life in its entirety. Translated from Latin, it means “ Love of fate. ”

It knows that twists and turns, flat, boring roads, and rollercoasters are necessary parts of our experience. It’s not about passively accepting setbacks; it’s about aligning yourself with the flow of life and seeing it more as a teacher than what has happened to us. My teacher likes to say, “Things happen for us, not to us.” Sometimes we need to look back to realise it.

Patience means giving up on an internal deadline about how fast things should happen and allowing life to unfold. Easier said than done... but I find this philosophy comforting. I hope you do too xxx
