Learn Menopause Yoga
SPECIAL NOTE: The March - April Menoposse Yoga Course and Menoposse Restorative Yoga are no longer going ahead.
What’s the difference between yoga and menopause yoga?
Menopause yoga is not a new type of yoga. It’s a curation of existing yoga techniques that have been tried and tested to help alleviate specific moods and symptoms that are common during perimenopause and menopause.
We learn breathing techniques, restorative yoga poses, and vinyasa and yin sequences that can alleviate feeling flat and sluggish, anxiety and overwhelm, extreme irritability, hot flushes, and sleeplessness.
What happens in class?
During the class, we share experiences with the symptoms and practice a series of techniques. There is an element of demonstration and plenty of time to relish in the poses and nourish your nervous system.
What will I get out of it?
-
Each student receives a printable guide for each lesson.
-
If you are already into yoga, think of this as a way to enhance and modify your classes and home practice to suit your energy level and emotions that day.
-
If you are new to yoga, then this is a fantastic introduction. We take things slowly in a nurturing environment.
-
The techniques you’ll learn can be applied to your everyday. You can do some at home, work and even when you are out and about.
-
While educational, the classes also have a relaxing retreat element so that you can leave with knowledge and a lovely recharge!
-
Our past students have loved chatting and learning from other women who have had similar experiences.
Where are the techniques from?
The techniques I share in this course are primarily based on my Menopause Yoga Teacher, Petra Coveney. She’s taught Menopause Yoga since 2011 and trained hundreds of teachers over the last 6 years. I gained my Menopause Yoga certification through Petra.
Your host
I am a certified (350-hour) Yoga Teacher who specialises in retreats and Menopause Yoga. Since completing an internationally acclaimed and certified Menopause Yoga Course, I have been passionate about sharing techniques to help women alleviate their symptoms. I am an experienced facilitator, and within all my "Menoposse Yoga" experiences, I enjoy holding space in women's circles where we can learn, laugh and cry, sharing each other's Menopausal experiences.
My favourite part about fostering a Menoposse community is building confidence in women. We recognise we are not going crazy, are not alone, and learn which techniques work to alleviate our specific symptoms.
