I want to want less
I Want to Want Less: Contentment and Desire

Want, want, want — there's always something we're chasing, isn't there? I'll be happier when... I get the new job, the bigger house, the love, the shoes...
I don't love that feeling.
There's a reason it feels that way — wanting and gratitude actually run on different brain chemistry. Wanting fires up the urgency, the chase. Gratitude settles the nervous system.
So this week I'm experimenting with something:
flipping the want into appreciation instead.
Don't get me wrong, I still want that bigger home. I'm just concentrating on appreciating the family inside these walls more.
In class this week — I'm bringing raspberries and blueberries for a little taste meditation. And on the mat, we'll flip the focus from noticing which bits feel stiff to appreciating what already feels good.
Big love, Em x
