Drop or ocean?
Drop or Ocean? Seeing the Bigger Picture

I made a little painting this week — micro focus vs big picture. The ocean is so expansive, but we often are staring at one little droplet in life.
Are we looking at the next wave coming in? Are we looking at a bead of water? Or are we standing back and enjoying the awe of the whole expanse?
Don't you find there's always something? A deadline. Someone who needs help, love, attention. Endless obligations — work, family, the tending of people we love. We can organise our days entirely around whatever seems urgent, whatever is most "in our face".
Urgent and important aren't the same thing.
But urgent is louder.
Sometimes it's helpful to look at the horizon. This week I'm standing back and asking:
Where am I spinning my wheels? When does it feel like I'm on a hamster wheel — this sense of urgency sucking in my attention again and again
Where does time spent feel like a drudge, draining more than it's building?
What am I not doing because of the "urgent" stuff — what keeps getting put on the back-burner?
And what feels big and expansive? What would I actually dive into if I prioritised my time differently?
What's sitting quietly on your back-burner right now?
What does your ocean look like right now?
Big love, Em x
