Leave space for your flames
Leave Space for Your Flames: The Art of Doing Less

I keep adding. Do you?
Perhaps it's more makeup. Another coffee. More activities jammed into a holiday. More things, because they are "good for me" piled onto an already full day. Starting a new, exciting little project.
We add because we think more will make it better. Sometimes we are overcompensating because we don't feel like what we are doing is enough. Or perhaps we start so many new, exciting things, and run out of steam and time to finish them (this is me!).
Judy Sorum Brown puts it perfectly:
"What makes a fire burn is space between the logs, a breathing space. Too much of a good thing, too many logs packed in too tight can douse the flames almost as surely as a pail of water would."
This week on the mat, we're asking: are you adding because you know it will make it better, or are you overcompensating? What could you refine or finish if you let a few other things go?
Big love, Em x
