Take the Long Shot

Egyptian painting of an archer drawing a bow with the words take the long shot

Have you ever had an urge to take a long shot — contact someone about an idea, apply for that job, ask someone out?

I was meditating recently when an impulse arrived. Reach out to him. He's a teacher I've admired for years. Because it came from a genuine place — just truly wanting to offer something I love — I sent the email. An astronomical long shot. And it felt good.

This week, we're exploring those little moments. Spanda. Sanskrit, from a root meaning simply "to move a little."

That quiver of what if I just tried — before the thinking mind talks us out of it.

Some long shots are pretty low risk. The email either gets opened or it doesn't. The question either gets asked or it doesn't. The worst that can happen is nothing.

And we never know if we don't try.

Is there a wild card sitting quietly in you somewhere this week?

Big love, Em x
