Truth Be Told: Speaking Honestly

Red hat pulled over peeking eyes with the words truth be told

Next time you catch yourself holding back your honest opinion on something, get curious about it.

What do you know in your heart you want to say — even though it feels a little scary to let that side of you show?

Why do we want to hold this back?

To please someone. To not offend. To be agreeable. To avoid sounding rude, or snobby, or [insert whatever you're privately self-conscious about].

Or maybe it's simpler and harder than that — are we scared of showing a side of ourselves that might be vulnerable?

This week on the mat we're sitting with the throat chakra — Vishuddha — our communication centre. When it's balanced, we can say what we actually think while still hearing someone else's truth without losing ourselves in it. When it's not, the words stay stuck. Unspoken. Held.

Big love, Em x
